Today's post was written by our first senior guest blogger, Jen Sansone, a double major in Psych and Dance from Westford, MA. Check out what she has to say about how her senior year is going and leave a comment to let us know what you think!
Hey 2010!
I hope you are showing those midterms who's boss and aspiring to get "perfect scores". While you may be busy studying for midterms, the LSAT/GRE/GMAT/MCAT or some other test, you should take some time to reflect on your college experience thus far.
I don't know about you, but to me, this school year is FLYING by without me even taking the time to realize it. My older friends and parents provided me with the piece of advice "take each day at a time" going into Senior year, and I have been attempting valiantly to do just that. However, in the midst of my efforts at this task I have found zero time to sit back and reflect on the fun I've had these past three years at GW.
In order to move forward with Senior Year, I have come to the conclusion that I must reflect- thinking back on different events I've attended, the great friends I've made, and the experiences we've shared is the fuel I need to help me power through the rest of the Fall semester. I'm not saying I want the rest of this school year to fly by, I just need positive thoughts to give me the energy to persevere through the tough school work and other tasks so I can fully commit myself to enjoying the rest of my time at GW. Freshman year seemed to go by just as fast as this year is going, however I had much more fun. How will I be able to channel that level of fun again to enjoy my senior year?
Being a Senior does not mean we have to fully feel the passing of time every day; Instead, we should think about the past to appreciate the present, and to motivate us for the future.
What are some past experiences you've had at GW that will be your "fuel" for enjoying Senior Year? Leave your comments and feedback and enjoy the rest of your week!
